I sat down this afternoon with this book, and have only just put it down now after reading right to the end. Moers is an enchanting writer and it's lovely to find a book written for adults that captivates the imagination in the same way that children's books do- illustrations included! Highly recommended for a bit of carefree escapism!

Yet again Walter Moers delivers another glorious tale from Zamonia in by far one of my favourite books this year, lovable (and detestable) characters and a storyline jam packed with adventure and surprises, i found it hard to tear myself away from the pages! As with all of his previous books the pages are adorned with wonderful quirky illustrations which gives this book something that normal fiction definately lacks.
