This book is really fascinating although, as a typical red I did think it was too long, it could be snappier. It’s very useful for work environments, hopefully I will learn from it.

Hi a very interesting read

It is quite a detailed and technical book, which I enjoyed. There may have been some tiny mind blowing discoveries but mostly, it is a common knowledge shown with examples which are very easy to understand. I think it is a good book, but it is more memorable because of its name, rather than the context.

Good read but even as a guy I didn’t like how the author kept using “he, him, his”. I would have lost interest if I was a female.

Surrounded by Idiots communicates a personality analysis framework that has been honed over time and is based broadly on individuals being categorised as one of four colours, each representing a personality type, or a combination of two or more. It makes for an entertaining read and contains many humorous illustrations of real life examples of the character types described, but I found it a little unhelpful in terms of the personality types. Great if your colleague/friend/partner/relative is clearly identifiable as one of the four types; not so helpful if they are a mixture of two or more of them. The book does contain some generally useful observations, for example, how receipt of a message is dependent more on the receiver rather than the sender, and provides guidance on how best to take this into account to enhance the likelihood of your message being received as intended.
