This is the second book in the Scion Saga, and I honestly feared this would be a let down after reading Opaque, but actually I think it’s better. That said, if you read Split Adam as a standalone book, you will be hopelessly lost within half a chapter. You do need to read these books as a series. The plot delves deeper than Opaque allowing for some great expansion of the world in which Adam and Carly live. There is a good amount of character development for Carly and Adam, and also for secondary characters, which helps carry the story forwards. I wasn’t sure if I liked Adam at the beginning, but I did get to understand him, and even feel some empathy for him. Overall, I enjoyed this well written, enjoyable, second book in the Scion Saga, which I’m happy to recommend to supernatural fantasy readers. I gave Split Adam, by Câlix Leigh-Reign, four stars.
