Reviews: Snakehead (4)
“Snakehead”
(Paperback)
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and bought it the very first day it was released. It was long waited as he Horowitz hasn't written any Alex Rider for over 1 year. I suggest this book to anyone, it is gripping and thrilling. I also recomend the whole series.
“Snakehead”
(Paperback)
An amazing story that I couldn't put down and I recomended it to all adventure lovers.
“Good series”
(Paperback)
Series review.
I enjoyed this series when it started. It's a good, action packed set of stories aimed firmly at the bond market. The stories are exciting, well written and with a good central character in alex. I did find myself drifting away from Horowitz after awhile but the books I read were generally good. Horowitz is a good writer and storyteller and the alex rider books were great. My one quibble is the time period they take place in. The books I read were set in a single year which seemed a bit hard to swallow. Apart from that this is an entertaining series.
“A Worthy Addition”
(Paperback)
I haven't read an Alex Rider book since I was 15 so I didn't carry on following the series after I'd read Ark Angel because I thought it was the last 1.
So when I discovered there was 2 others, 1 being Snakehead, I thought I may as well read them, even if I might be getting a bit old for these books now.
I was hoping that Horrowitz would measure up to his usual standard of Alex Rider books. This 1 is in a way just like the rest but completely different at the same time, all the action is written the same which is good, he hasn't changed his style at all.
You learn a lot more about Alex's parents in this novel and there is a surprising twist at the end that if I'm being honest didn't see coming, yet it was screaming at me all the way throught the novel when I thought about it.
This book like the others has it's own unique clever moments throughout the book that will give you something to think about after each session of reading.
If you've read the other Rider books then I would recommend this to you, as it is just as in depth and challenging for Alex as Eagle Strike was, which was my favourite book. The only reason this book didn't get a 5 star rating was because I personally thought it didn't quite match up to Eagle Strike and Ark Angel.
Overall, I enjoyed this book =]
