Collins' third book was originally published under the title 'Sunday Simmons & Charlie Brick' back in 1972, then re-published as 'The Hollywood Zoo' and, finally 'Sinners' in the 1980s. Her first book set in Hollywood, it may not be as strong as her later novels Hollywood Wives and Lovers & Gamblers but is heading in the right direction with some engaging central characters and a glimpse of the tell-tale humour that defines Collins' more recent work. If you are wondering, Sunday Simmons is an actress and Charlie Brick a high flying comedian. Sounds an odd mix but it works well. A great beach read.
