I really needed a comforting, feel-good read, something almost sinful and indulgent, make me smile and leave me feeling happily satisfied - almost like a sticky, sugar-coated cream bun. Shoe Addicts Anonymous did just that! This is Beth Harbison's first novel and the premise of the story really appealed to me - four very different women meeting and becoming firm friends all through their love of shoes. As someone who values her friendships ..... and her shoes ...... this was right up my street. Yes, it's a girly, chick-lit sort of book but it's also very believable, with characters with problems that are real, that you can relate to. Each character had their own quirkiness, their own uniqueness and all were brilliant drawn and I loved them all. Yes, the cover is pink and yes, there are pictures of shoes on the cover, but so what? It's an easy read, perfect Sunday afternoon stuff - curled up with a hot chocolate, or even better, on a lounger by the pool.
