Reviews: Sharpe’s Trafalgar (3)
“Sharpe at Sea!”
(Paperback)
The fourth book in the Sharpe series see's Ensign Richard Sharpe return home from India to join the Rifles. His journey is of course not simple, with many twists & turns including being chased by the French, chasing the French and of the course the big battle itself. Full of action as always, Sharpe's Trafalgar does not disapoint!
Noone can beat Cornwell for his battle scenes, the Battle of Trafalgar is here excellently described and you can really visualise it
“Another great Sharpe adventure, this time at sea.”
(Paperback)
Another excellent addition to the Sharpe series. The Battle of Trafalgar is brought to life in an amazing way, the details are so great and you live every moment with the characters. Now I feel like I need to make a pilgrimage to Portsmouth to see HMS Victory and stand where Nelson stood. As always Cornwell does a brilliant job of inserting Sharpe into genuine historical events. This is the 4th novel in the series and they are all brilliant, so it's hard to say this is the best, but I did read it quicker than any of the others which is a testament to the fact that it's so engrossing and very hard to put down. A great piece of historical fiction.
“Bad”
(Paperback)
Waterstones are terrible. They have sent the wrong edition again.
