The beauty of this book is that even its publication just before the pandemic feels a perfect illustration of the very feminine intuitive wisdom or 'sensuous knowledge' which the Author, Minna Salami attests to within the pages. Such a perfectly timed book for our age. It's a powerful, delicious read. Incredibly affirming and empowering, and as a mixed heritage woman, the impact of being able to relate so deeply to Salami's views with all of the nuance only possible through shared experience, was a gift. Everybody should read this book. For while it is indeed particularly affirming for black women to read and relate to another black feminist perspective, it is in everybody else picking up the book that I feel Sensuous Knowledge will enjoy the impact in the world it truly deserves.
