“A Joyous Romp Through The Life Of The Inventor of Bagpuss”
(Paperback)
Oliver Postgate was the co-creator of some of the classic children's programmes of my childhood. Noggin The Nog, The Clangers, Ivor The Engine and Bagpuss to name but a few. I grew up with the great gift of sharing in his imaginary worlds and it was a joy to rediscover them through his autobiography. Postgate is a wonderful writer who imbues almost everything he comes across with magic, whether it's his memories of what it is to be a child or his recollection of his discovery of film making as the medium that changed his career and life. He is a deeply eccentric man who has the gift of opening his mind and heart to other people and inviting them to share it with him. I loved discovering more about his equally eccentric family members and his passions and enthusiasms. There are lots of great photos here, too. This is a record of a life well lived and people well loved.
