I read this as a 34yo who had already begun to question more than a few ‘norms’ in my own life and I was instantly grabbed by Maté’s writing style and similar experience to my own. While a book cannot give a diagnosis, this truly was an eye-opening read that suddenly helped many, many, many things fall into place. I write this now, three years later, with a formal diagnosis of combined-type ADHD and I still recommend this book as a first port of call to anyone who might like to know more about this condition.
