Reviews: Saving Grace (2)
“Delightfully disturbing”

A brilliant read, I really enjoyed this book. Jane Green has definitely developed a darker tone and it makes for compelling reading. Thought provoking - what drives someone to completely destroy a family, and how would you cope if it happened to you. A must read!
“Brilliant writing and a touching story”

I love a Jane Green novel and was very excited to hear there was something new on the horizon! Even more excited when I snagged an early copy! 'Saving Grace' is the story of Grace Chapman, wife to a famous and moody author, successful chef and pillar of the community. She loves her life but when she employs a new, seemingly perfect assistant, Beth, things start to crumble. Jane Green has a fantastic ability to really make her characters seem like your friends, you instantly connect with them and always feel slightly bereft at the end of her books because you have to say goodbye – 'Saving Grace' is no exception. I truly felt that Grace was an old friend, I despaired with her and championed her. Jane Green has taken some quite heavy subjects (bipolar, mental illness and misdiagnosis) and treated them sensitively and passionately. But also with a lightness that makes this book un-put-downable – I raced to the end and had to say goodbye to Grace much sooner than I would have liked! One of favourite authors, once again, provided me with a wonderful book and one I recommend!
