Such a fantastic page-turner that's richly intriguing and eerily sinister, reminiscent of gothic thrillers of old. I absolutely loved it!!

Murder, witchcraft, secret societies. This novel has all of this, plus transportation and mad houses. This is the first Lloyd Shepherd book i have read and i will be looking into his others. He captures dark and dingy 1800's London wonderfully and his characters are interesting and well rounded. The story is entrancing and fast paced.
