Like all Childs books, the stories are great and attention grabbing. Really enjoyed this one.

Good stories, although I am more accustomed to full length stories, I found the variety of stories to be good with some surprising twists.

Safe Enough is a collection of twenty short stories, plus one additional short story co-written with Tess Gerritsen. First published as anthology in 2024, most of these short stories have been published in different collections. They may not be too everyone’s liking as there is only one story which features Jack Reacher. Like most short stories, they have to unpack their story very quickly so there is no working out who is which character who are the black hats, white hats. In a way that is part of the pleasure of short story, as who is what is part of the twist. It takes a skilled wordsmith to pack a punch in such a short story. The blurb is correct in that these short stories are meticulously plotted and are compelling, not every author can write short stories well. They reflect humanity at its worst. Though the addition of the Reacher and Maggie Bird is an enjoyable crossover. You can read this book in one sitting or dip in and out of the book at will. Great read.

Lee Child's Safe Enough: And Other Stories features 20 short stories including an exclusive new Jack Reacher featuring Maggie Bird from Tess Gerritsen's Spy Coast series. As a Jack Reacher fan this was a must read for me. An easy reading collection of short stories means you can pick up and put down this book with ease, no commitment. Obviously some stories are longer and better than others but all of them are different. A must have in the collection for any Lee Child fans like myself.
