I was introduced to this book through the history channel adaptation. This book is a must read for anyone interested in American history and particularly the slavery period. It is gripping and always changing. Following the family members of a single man who was brought in chains from Africa with the name of Kunta Kinte. It is loosely based on the authors real family origins and shows the spirit of each member distinctively. Everyone plays their part in this book and it’s amazing to read. Promise you will not get bored reading this book but immediately get sucked in and want more while being inspired by the human spirit’s courage and bravery in times of destruction.
