What a wonderful, wonderful book. James Robertson and Jill Calder have produced a fantastic introduction to the story of the Bruce. There is plenty of scope for the storytellers amongst you to add tales of the Bruce and the Wars of Independence as i did when i read the story with my family. The story of the Bruce, William Wallace, Bannockburn, the Declaration of Arbroath are so well know that Jill Calder's illustrations are a welcome addition to the simple text of James Robertson (One of Scotland's best modern writers). This should easily lead you onto other books on the Bruce and i'd heartily recommend Alistair Moffat's 'Bannockburn' and Colm McNamee's 'Robert Bruce.
