“Not bad”
(Hardback)

I've heard so much about this book that I was curious to read it, so thank you very much for the ARC as an exchange for a honest review. The book is complex, the plot interesting, but it did not blew me away as I would have expected with such strong world building. A great opening for a series, that lacks a bit on its own. Then again, all series need the stage set before the *real fun* begins. MANY questions that I assume will be answered in the sequels. I've given it 4 stars, as, despite it missing the mark a bit, it has a great potential for the longrun, and isn't this what really matters? A great overall series. I am keen and will be seated for more!

“What begging do I need to do for the second book?!”

Perfect slow burn enemies-to-lovers romantasy, if you loved Fourth Wing or Metal Slinger must pick this up! Interesting world building, fast-paced writing, giggling the whole way through. Jaw was DROPPED for those last 50 pages!
“wow what a book”

Wow wow what a book! I have read the ascended so didnt know how this was going to tie in. An amazing unique magic system thats still easy to understand and follow. Utterly engrossed in this world. I could put this book down. Grenwich and Lennox are truly amazing at what they do! This really does have everything you need and more in a romantasy book. I loved the FMC and I feel if you find the main characters relatable your on to something good!  Everything was there with the plot and the world building was perfect!  This book had all of my favorite tropes and that ending had me shook!! Cant wait to read Duskbound and many more grenwich and Lennox books.
“Awesome Story!”

I did really enjoy this story. The world building is different and the take on where the FMC came from and basically how the groups of people are shunned and branded like cattle for not being from the same place as they are refugees from a place that was destroyed. I’m still unsure as to what the love dynamics are really like between FMC and MMC. They do eventually sleep together, but MMC still has not confessed his feelings for her properly and the ending will have you questioning things a whole lot more. He is very much on her side though with a sprinkle of touch her and die. I love how the FMC changed throughout this story. From her being a shell of a person, constantly terrified of herself and what people think of her, to then a force to be reckoned with. The only thing, I felt it was really slow at times but it is set up for the next book perfectly and I cannot wait to see where this story leads. The Waterstones version of this book is absolutely stunning.
“Fast-paced, fun romantasy!”

This was a quick, entertaining read! The fast pace really worked for me, and I found myself squeezing in extra pages whenever I could (which says something for the weird reading mood I've been in the past few weeks!). The authors explore typical romantasy tropes in a really satisfying way, and the world was set up really well - I'm intrigued to see where it opens up in future books! And that ending had me REELING, I can't wait to find out what happens to these characters next! Big thanks to Penguin Huddle for sending me an ARC of this!
