“A brilliantly fast paced romantasy!”
(Hardback)
by Faria at Blackburn
The most perfectly paced romantasy that gives major acotar/fourth wing vibes! Genuinely your newest romantasy obsession. Fia has a power unlike any other and after she’s caught losing control by the king’s general she’s recruited into his faction to be trained as a weapon in the upcoming war against the darkness. General Laryk Ashford is your typical arrogant but brilliant general, he’s brooding, possessive - literally everything you want in a fantasy male character. Fia is driven, passionate and loyal and her power is genuinely so intriguing, I cannot wait to learn more. The ending had me desperate for the next book, I cannot wait to get stuck in it!!!

I am reeling, REELING. What do you mean, I cannot pick up Duskbound today and will have to wait till July?! This book managed to give me the biggest whiplash, and I honestly did not see any of it coming. It's Metal Slinger-level and my jaw was floored! AND I can't really talk about any of it because it would truly ruin someone's reading experience. Ugh. There is a lot of ground work that takes place in this book, but, honestly, how is this book written by two people? It's so cohesive and seamless, the writing feels tight, well edited and no word felt out of place. I kept thinking, they must have read it and re-read it hundreds of times, the flow and pace were ON POINT from the first till the last page. The world, the different focuses (magic systems), the supporting characters (especially Ma and Osta) and the actual premise, I can only imagine Bree and Parker having long hour conversations about all major and minor aspects of the story, a live document shared between laptops, you ladies are a FORCE to be reckoned with, and I am so excited for what is to come next! Honorary mention to the last 100 pages or so: It's the explosive, unputdownable, SJM-level of relentless action, plot twists and revelations, my heart SANG. If you, like me, have been missing this in anticipation of the next ACOTAR books, you are, my friend, in good, trusting hands. Enjoy! I can only pray to Esprtith the Duskbound arc becomes available on NetGalley and I get approved, my poor soul will probably wither in anticipation otherwise. A huge thank you to Bree Grenwich, Parker Lennox, Penguin Random House UK Children's | Penguin and NetGalley for my review copy, all opinions are my own.

“Brilliant start to the series!”

⭐️ 4.5 stars rounded up ⭐️ Fia lives as an outcast in her city. As scared of the magic within her, as she is of meaningful connection with others, she finds herself having to train with General Ashford to unlock her gifts. He wants her to join the Guard as their secret weapon, whilst Fia tries to hold on to life as she knows it. I feel like this novel is best experienced without too much previous knowledge of the story. I was hooked almost immediately. Fia is a great central character- strong and with a backstory that warrants her reticence about the new opportunity opened up for her. The story is well paced, ramping up to a devastating ending. I can't wait to see where the story goes in the next 2 books.

What a promising start to a series !Riftborne is the first book in The Esprithean Trilogy by Grenwich and Lennox .The first chapter had me locked in, i dont know what they put in this highly addictive book but i was hooked right from the start. If you love your books to have major plot twists ,Serious character development and growth, intriguing world building and plenty of off the charts yearning then i think youd love this book .This story pulls you in , eager to read on and discover all of its many secrets .The first half is slower in pace but this is ok as we are just getting to know Fia and the world she lives in . The second half however amps up the volume and things begin to happen pretty quickly , you just have to hold on and enjoy the ride .Or in my case stay up entirely too late because i just couldnt put this down.Fia is such a great character , i loved seeing her character growth throughout the book ,she really goes on an emotional rollercoaster of a journey and Laryk omg i just loved him , yes hes emotionally unavailable and maybe a tad manipulative but im all in for a red flag .Im afraid ive fallen and theirs no going back ?I wont go too deep into this review as knowing me ill wramble on and give away spoliers .You really need to experience this for yourself as the plot twists are on a whole another level .Lets just say this, i thought i had the mysteries all figured out and then bam , my theories went up in smoke when that doosy of a cliffhanger happened .I really didnt see that ending at all .I am utterly torn and let me say just abit thrown , my heart is in pieces and my mouth on the floor I need Duskbound like now thank you very much
