I've never tried a Jilly Cooper before as I presumed they were a cliché. I tried this book as it was recommended on social media and I really couldn't put it down. The introduction to the characters was thorough and then the stories, all interwoven, were superb. Even though the back drop is horse's and show jumping you don't need to be into that world to enjoy this book. I'm now onto the next in the series

Jilly Cooper's exceptionally funny, bawdy and rather outrageous bonkbuster is one of the best of its type. Its secret lies in the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously and just aims to entertain, which it does in spades. It reminds me rather of Tom Sharpe's Blot on the Landscape tv adaptation with every character a caricature and pretty much nothing left to the imagination. Great bedtime reading. Very British, I absolutely loved all the characters and it is so well written. Must be one of my top five books of all time!

This book I haven't yet finished is both about love, sex and jealousy. A good read so far as also about horses which I love and I really want the others in the series.
