There is so much in this book that it could fit into many genres, and it would appeal to many different types of readers. It's not a 'war' story, it starts there and moves quickly on to intrigue and challenge the reader's imagination but don't try to predict the path this man's life will take - you'll never succeed until Pendrie enlightens you. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the mysterious first page to the twists at the end. ....... and I don't read novels!!!
