I received a copy of this from the publisher and it arrived at a good time for me! My 4-year-old has been having some ~ahem~ issues with keeping his temper and this book definitely resonated with him. He was very upset that Ravi's friends didn't want to play with him because of it (spoiler alert) and it was a good way to re-enforce what we had been telling him about roaring when angry. A lovely story with gorgeous illustrations as well. One that we may be pulling out to read quite a bit lol

I really enjoyed the pictures in this book. When Ravi and his family go out he is last, as he is the smallest. He doesn't get to climb the monkey bars or jump the logs, but when he misses out on an ice cream he gets really angry and starts to Roar, Ravi turns into a tiger! The tiger pushes, he climbs he jumps and gets what he wants. but nobody wants to play with him any more. As the tiger calms down, he turns back to Ravi again. He doesn't get so angry again, but he might growl a bit. A lovely story about anger and why a child might get mad, how it will blow over and you might forget why you were mad to begin with. Maybe anger can be useful if we don't let it take over. A good discussion book. Thank you Bloomsbury for letting me have a gifted copy to review.

This book made me mad. It seemed unfair and it had no models to copy on regulating anger or techniques that my child can put into practise. In my opinion this book, unfortunately falls short on a few things. We have read Ruby's Worry which was great and I thought this would be similar too but unfortunately not.
