A brilliant resource. Aside from the fact that they are not actual exam papers, in every other way these books are better than past paper books. Great for students because of the handy section at the front reminding them of tips and tricks to help them understand exactly what the question is asking. Also very useful is the table that directs users to specific questions: I particularly like this because sometimes you want practice material in the form of exam-style questions rather than a textbook, and if a student is studying only a specific section, the table ensures they don't have to trawl through entire papers just to find one relevant question. However, the absolutely best thing about these books, which the past papers don't have, is the fact that the answers aren't just answers. Each answer comes with explanations as to why it is or is not the correct answer, or tips for how to remember the correct answer. The practice papers make a good supplement to the past papers. A past paper book only has five papers and so is limiting (unless you're lucky enough to get hand-me downs as well). There are only so many times you can do the same papers, so these increase the amount of practice material for the student. I'd recommend using these for revision and prep, then using the past papers as unseen papers just before the final exam when the student feels ready to try a real exam paper, so that students can practice the right kind of questions but still replicate exam conditions by not having seen the papers. Using past papers as practice papers takes that away.
