I read P.S I love you a long time ago and absolutely loved it. I read it in one sitting it was that addictive. When I heard there was going to be a sequel I just had to read it. It did not disappoint. Soooo worth the wait! It was so nice to see how the characters had progressed since the first one as I enjoyed them so much both in the book and the film. I felt this was so beautifully written and really tugged at my heartstrings. I felt myself really getting immersed in the book and wanting the best for holly as I really loved Gerry as a character and they suited each other so well. (The mum in the first one wasn’t my favourite person though!) I would definitely say I enjoyed the first one more as you can’t go wrong with such a beautiful story however I still really rated this book. I loved the cover as well, thought it was absolutely beautiful. Would recommend.

Holly is a young widow and lost her young husband to cancer, she speaks about the letters he wrote in such a moving way. It was a long time ago that I read PS I love you and I wasn’t sure if that would matter, I needn’t have worried as the recap of the story at the start meant I knew all I needed to. This is such a beautiful, moving story, full of hope and love after loss. The style is just so beautiful and well written. I love Cecilia Ahern’s writing, having read several of her other books, my favourite being The year I met you. I thought the cover of this looked a bit cheesy and thought it was trying to appeal to a younger audience and I was put off reading it for a while but, it just goes to show you can’t always judge a book by its cover. This is a really lovely enjoyable read, and I fell in love with this from the very beginning- I don’t know how you wouldn’t!

Wow!! This is quite simply one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. I am a huge fan of P.S. I love you (both the book and film) and was beyond excited when I heard about this sequel. P.S. I love you follows Holly, as she tries to navigate life after the death of her husband Gerry. Gerry lends a hand, with monthly letters (10 in total) guiding her through the rest of the year after his death in February. Each letter ends with ‘P.S. I love you’. This sequel moves forward 7 years. Holly has found love again and is getting on with her life, when her participation in a podcast changes everything. She later gets caught in a whirlwind with a new group- The P.S. I love you club. Postscript follows her journey with this new group, as Holly helps the clubs members and remembers old times with Gerry (both when he was alive and the year following his death where she received his letters). This is one of the rare occasions when I think I may have loved the sequel even more than the first novel (it was at least equal to P.S. I love you). I always loved the original book for its unique take on a love story, but this book took it so much further. The theme of leaving something behind for loved ones when you pass is beautiful. Each of the members of the club has an original take on what they want to do. So much of the book was heart-wrenching and emotional. This story has such a personal side for me, after dealing with serious medical issues 8 years ago that have started to crop up again recently, it’s made me think poignantly about my loved ones. I’m sure there are many others that this book will touch in a similar way. Cecelia Ahern has such a gift for writing unique and meaningful stories. Her writing is so easy to read, and the book is continuously flowing. I would highly recommend this novel and I really hope that one day another book will join this series!

Having read and totally loved PS I Love you, i was very excited to read Postscript which is the sequel to PS I Love you. This book continues seven years after Gerry’s death. Well this book was wonderful. It made me cry at times and there was a few laugh out loud moments. It is an easy to read story but at the same time a story that will stay with you.

This is a story of love and loss because the heroine in the story has lost the love of her life to a terminal illness. But when this story starts, it is some time since Holly lost her husband and had to face life as a young widow. She is doing well and moving on until events in her life started to bring back old feelings and memories. Before her husband died, he left a series of notes for Holly to find long after his death. Part of the moving on process for Holly was to work in her sister`s vintage charity shop. The sister would hold open evenings in her shop and she also created a podcast. Unfortunately Holly was the subject of the podcast and she had to record a message of how she coped with losing her young husband. The main subject of the podcast was the messages that were left for her by her husband. Holly did not realise how popular the podcast was to be and the effect it had on other terminally ill people who wanted to leave something behind after their own deaths.
