I will confess, when I first read the blurb I didn't think I would like this one - but I LOVED it! The writing style is gorgeous and the setting is fantastic. It's beautiful and odd and close to perfect for me. The blurb is a little misleading in that it makes Micah and Gene sound like two different people ... which isn't entirely true. Micah/Gene is such a likeable, original character who is impossible not to love. What Micah goes through over the course of the story is heartbreaking and wonderful all at once. There is the loveliest undercurrent of magic and myth through this. And my only gripe is: where's the rest of it?! I'm truly hoping for a sequel to be released soon because there is so much left unanswered! I won't say more, just trust me on this: read it. I think it'll surprise you.
