Reviews: Odd Thomas (6)
“Odd Thomas”
(Paperback)
by Cameron Strachan
One of my favourite books, and characters. Odd Thomas is fantastic. Very funny, and equaly creepy in places, and well developed. This is the book I'd recommend to anyone thinking about starting reading Koontz.
“Brilliant Book: You'll Want The Whole Series!”
(Paperback)
by SiobhanC
It is safe to say that Dean Koontz has been my favourite author since I picked up his first book, my eyes always on the lookout for those books missing from my collection. If you have never before read a Dean Koontz book then this is a great place to start, although be warned you will soon be reading the rest of the series. The book contains the classic Koontz mash-up of laughter, sorrow, on-the-edge-of-your-seat moments and the inability to put the book down through wanting to know what happens next. Odd is one of the most lovable characters you will ever come across, easy to relate to even though he isn’t exactly ‘normal’. Even those characters that are not the focus point of the story have the necessary qualities to make them real and loveable (or hateable where the situation calls for it). Plus if you’re an Elvis fan here is your chance to see him in his after-life form. My only warning for this particular book is for you to have a box of tissues at the ready if you’re prone to emotional moments as this book will get you.
“I wish I hadn't waited this long to start”
(Paperback)
by Andy Stevens
I wish I hadn't waited this long to start reading Dean Koontz! This book is written with a beautiful, almost lyrical, style which paints a vivid and fantastically detailed view of the world in which Odd lives. More than that is transition of the everyday world of the hero's life whenever his 'gift' is needed and the sheer plausibility he gives to being able to see and interact with the dead. I am completely in love with Odd and Pico Mundo.

“A cracking tale from Koontz”
(Paperback)
by N Lindon
I read this book a long time ago and have just re-read it. I can honestly say it was just as good the 2nd time around. This was the first Koontz for me and what a discovery it was. The author has a great way of getting into your mind and getting you into the action. Kind of reminds me of several films that seem to have taken hints from Odd Thomas, most notably Bruce Willis's The Sixth Sense. Buy it, read it. You will become the latest Koontz fan.
