Reviews: Not Dead Enough (2)
“Superb!”
(Paperback)
You know you've found a great writer when you (the reader) thinks that they have solved the crime only to find that you were only partly right or better yet completely wrong! I was on the right track but took the wrong fork!! This is a very cleverly plotted novel with some excellent twists, good solid characters and brilliant details. The continuing story of Sandy ramps up a notch with a tantalising side-plot within the main body of the novel.
Well worth a read.
“It's kind of obvious whodunit...”
(Paperback)
I find Peter James's books can be quite hit and miss. This one was fairly good although there really is only one plausible solution to the case, so no big surprise revelations here - it's just a matter of waiting for the police to catch up. Not that it is surprising that they are lagging, since so much of the plot is taken up with Roy trying to track down his missing wife who ran off 9 years ago. This is an ongoing element between books and as I've read the books out of order and know what is going to happen, I found it quite unengaging personally, but I imagine it would be of more interest to someone new to the series.
