Fantastic book documenting the life of Nelson, particularly when looking at his relationships with his superiors. The only slight criticism is that Andrew Lambert does go easy on Nelson during the most controversial period of his career, his time in Naples. Apart from that, the battles and Nelson’s genius does shine through. I think it’s fair to say that while Napoleon was the Nelson of the land, Nelson was the Napoleon of the sea.
