Reviews: Natives (22)
“One of the best non-fiction books I've ever read”
(Paperback)
Akala writes with a fluidity, passion and breadth of knowledge and experience that is incredibly engaging.
The scope of his discussions are so wide and well crafted that every chapter was teeming with eye opening insights. I had an intense experiance reading this and I imagine that many other readers would have similarly strong reactions. To the high quality of Akalas writing, the frustration at the many injustices he discusses and the satisfaction of seeing the many bad faith fallacies our society rests upon being torn to shreds.
“Highly recommended. Very well-articulated.”
(Paperback)
Highly recommended. Very well-articulated from a unique point of view that few (if any) people have. Anybody can learn from this book no matter what race or class you are.
“Everyone needs to read this book”
(Paperback)
Insightful and historical. Akala knows what he talks about and his own experiences intertwined with the complex and honest history of these lands teaches us all not to be ignorant.
“Everyone should read this book”
(Paperback)
A beautifully written book dissecting a million ugly truths, Natives is Akala at his levelheaded, eloquent best. Such important work.
