When you read and love Mrs Bridge (and if you read it, you will love it.) the logical next step is to read Mr Bridge. I confess, I was in slight trepidation lest it disappoint me, but my fears were groundless. Mr Bridge is an understated masterpiece. More episodes with Douglas has just given me more material to turn to when I need to laugh and more Mr Bridge left me liking him more and missing him more. I feel he's as tangible as anyone I ever met.
