I really struggled when I read this fifth book in the series. I found it quite dark and not that funny. The writing was decent but like the previous book, (so long, and thanks for all the fish,) I found the plot a little thin. Now I have to admit it's been a long time since I read it. I've since read the first four books again, but after struggling with the fourth book again I've put off reading this again. It's not terrible but it's not a book I feel an urge to read again. I will do so and hopefully will enjoy it more. One odd thing is I have to say that I enjoyed the radio versions of books four and five far more than the actual novels themselves. Not really sure why either.
