“A Joyful Journey Through Seasons and Spice: My Experience with Monsoon”
(Hardback)
From the moment I opened Monsoon: Delicious Indian Recipes for Every Day and Season, I could tell it was something special. The recipes are colorful, inviting, and perfectly tuned to the changing moods of the year. What I love most is how approachable everything feels - even dishes that sound elaborate are broken down in such a warm, encouraging way that I never felt overwhelmed.
I started with a simple corn and coconut curry, and it instantly became a new favorite, full of bright, comforting flavors. As I cooked more from the book, I found myself looking forward to each season’s recipes, almost like little celebrations in my kitchen. Beyond the food, the personal stories and memories scattered throughout made it feel like I was traveling through India with a close friend, learning not just about ingredients, but about traditions and emotions tied to every dish.
Monsoon isn’t just a cookbook for me now - it’s a companion I know I’ll keep reaching for, year after year.

“Beautiful photos, seasonality and delicious recipes”
(Hardback)
This is not only a beautiful book with gorgeous, colourful photography and design, but the content is so much more than just recipes. Each recipe comes with a paragraph of background, history or a story about the dish, which makes you really appreciate what you're cooking. The recipes are arranged by season, helping you to cook seasonally, and there are suggestions of dishes that would go together well to create a three course meal. The potato dishes are some of the best I've ever made, and I've enjoyed trying other things I wouldn't have thought to make such as an Omelette Curry and Chilli Chocolate Barfi. Asma Khan's passion shines through in this lovely book and I've been really enjoying making a wide range of recipes from it.
