I didn’t realise this was part of a series. I think it did well as a stand-alone however, it did make me wonder briefly if I’ve missed out on the characters lives, obviously in the other books. It’s a very energetic book with lots of suspense. Body parts of the dead popping up…. Serial killer I was wondering how it all would join up in the end. The girlfriend the Detective, it was quite intriguing how this all knitted together. I’m being vague I know because if you’ve not (like me) read the previous books I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.
