Reviews: Missing (3)
“Just Fabulous!”
(Paperback)
K.L. Slater is back with this thriller that will have you hooked till the final pages. Josie’s little girl, Ivy has vanished and a top suspect is Samuel who has been released from prison after being incarcerated for killing Josie’s brother 25 years before. Some characters you may like, others you may not, but the plot is top-notch, as is the pacing. A terrific, rollercoaster tale packed with twists. Very highly recommended.
I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture via NetGalley and this review is my unbiased opinion.
“That ending”
(Paperback)
I’m having a K.L. slater binge.
This was a fast twisty read. That ending! OMG. That ending.
I’ve been hooked listening to this book all day and reluctantly had to switch it off a couple of times as someone in the family wanted to speak to me! Just call me antisocial.
This book will stay with me for some time I think.
Great plot. Fab read.
“An engrossing read”
(Paperback)
Josie had a troubled childhood. Her mother had no time for her, her baby brother was all she was interested in. Josie spent a lot of time with the Barlow's, Maggie gave her the love she didn't get at home & Samuel was her best friend. Josie adored young Jimmy but Samuel was jealous & when Jimmy went missing & was eventually found dead in a refrigeration room he was the prime suspect & eventually given a long prison sentence. Over the years Josie has married & separated & has a daughter, Ivy, who is the light of her life. When Samuel is released Josie is sure Samuel will want revenge & when Ivy goes missing there is no doubt in her mind that Samuel is to blame. As Maggie lied for him before she is sure she knows something now- but will she help?
This was a real page turner as I wanted Josie to get her daughter back, in spite of the fact I wasn't terribly drawn to her as a character. As I've come to expect from K.L. Slater there were plenty of surprises- I'm still trying to get over the finale! Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.
