Reviews: Milligan's War (1)
“Great”
(Paperback)
Series review. (This is an edited omnibus of books 1-6)
Spike Milligan's war memoirs are a must read for fans. They are an accurate account of his experiences during the second world war... well, sort of! Spike addresses the horrors of war and his own horrendous experiences with his customary irreverence. These books are very funny. And very moving in places. This is a set of autobiographies that I have returned to several times. The writing is great and the people leap off the page. The first six volumes are all from the war years and volume 7 covers the end of the war and the first few years of peace. Wonderful books and highly recommended.
