“Message Deleted by K L Slater”
(Hardback)
by Christine Rennie
Message Deleted by K L Slater was an extraordinary psychological thriller, at times the storyline was giving me goosebumps. I believe it could be one of her best stories yet! The tension and the characters were all very finely drawn. The reader was never sure what was going to happen next. As with all of KL Slater’s books there were many twists and turns to help keep the reader enthralled. A masterclass in psychological thrillers by the queen of suspense. Highly recommended
“A pacy page-turner”
(Hardback)
by Mel Pretorius
"Message Deleted" by KL Slater is just what I want in a thriller: pacy, page-turner with lots of twists and turns. The book had me gripped from the beginning and every character was a suspect in my mind. Ok, some of the relationships were questionable but hey this is a great book so I don't care.
“Page turner”
(Hardback)
by Christine Revely
This brilliant psychological thriller had me on the edge of my seat from the first page until the last. Dealing with long held secrets and revenge it had me guessing almost to the end. Makes you question who you can actually trust and your relationships. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
“Another blockbuster”
(Hardback)
by Julie Watt
K L Slater at her best yet again. Thrilling, superb writing. This book has it all twists and turns, red herrings galore. A great read that really grips you from page one. Saffy has it coming at her from all sides but in the end manages to get the truth from everyone involved. Who is controlling, who is pulling the strings?
“The Past Catches Up With The Present”
(Paperback)
by Sheila Easson
The past has returned with a vengeance. The author demonstrates well how life can turn on a sixpence. Saffy’s life abruptly implodes. Despite having the best intentions, she is possessive, controlling, and meddlesome. Her anxiety is omnipresent, fearful and oppressive, prompted by present and earlier traumas. It rules her life. The four female characters are gullible and quickly led into unworthy relationships. Inevitably, dire circumstances arise with consequences. They all harbour secrets and past traumas. Saffy’s Poppy's younger sister is flighty, strives for independence, and prefers casual relationships. Her friend, Leona, is the bad seed of the bunch because of her complicity, selfishness, and betrayal. She’s not the good friend she appears to be. Simpering, Mira is consumed with second-wife jealousy. This novel paints people at their worst during this fiasco of past and present situations. How will the journey pan out with such diverse characters and calamities? The novel ends with an unexpected, explosive boom I failed to anticipate. I enjoyed the story enormously, as the author neatly and ingeniously plotted it to keep you wondering. Thank you to NetGalley and Michael Joseph Penguin Random House.
