Meow is a charming book for the youngest of readers and perfect for a bedtime story. It is a simple tale of ginger cat Socks looking for his black cat friend Ash in various places. The illustrations are the star of the show, they look like oil paintings. One particular page had an image of a pigeon which was amazingly lifelike. Socks asks lots of questions which will provide the opportunity to interact with the young reader. The final image of the two friends reunited was genuinely heart warming.
