“Mega success”
(Hardback)
Bought as a gift for a fan of David Walliams and it has been avidly read. He thoroughly enjoyed the book and even rereads it like all the other Walliams books.
“For Hannah”
(Hardback)
I bought this book as part of my granddaughter’s birthday present. It was a great success, she absolutely loves it.
“The vicious creature that prevents children's education”
(Paperback)
The allegory that David Walliams chooses to insert in this story is one of deep social impact. A naughty child is sent to a special boarding school. As the narrative flows and the characters show their fangs and claws, the heroine is buried in worries, woes and enemies. The allies seem to disappear like the sun on a cloudy day and she is faced with a crushing challenge. But, as is the case with the author's previous novels, the forces of good spring through bare stones and hope delivers a fate of justice and happiness. And so it should be! This is the lesson that Mr Walliams conveys wittingly and effortlessly for his little readers. As for the grown-ups, the message is a bit murkier as it touches the aspects of inequality, prejudice and cruelty. And as long as this weeds persist in society, the future of a child is gloomier and far more endangered than it should be!
