I remember reading this book when I was about 10 or 11 years old and absolutely loving it! The characters are fantastic, (as with all Roald Dahls!) the descriptions are lively, engaging and colourful. I would absolutely recommend it for any child who loves books and/or magic!

“Don't judge a book by its' covers”

by P.H. Maddie
Behind the covers of a book, lay many mysterious pages filled with secrets and treasures. Of the heart and of the mind. Roald Dahl chose to bestow upon his heroine this transfiguration. Matilda is a little girl with an extraordinary inquisitive mind and the heart of a lioness. For children, this book is a valuable lesson in the art of education and propriety. In the act of heroism and defending one's values. For adults, it has an even bigger role: it shapes the traits we seek to instil and develop in our offsprings- courage, curiosity, optimism, imagination, honesty and a warm heart. But most importantly, it exudes in every page and every scene (be it calm or intensely wild) with a sense of fulfilment...Because Matilda is the epitome of HOPE!!!
