i saw this book online and it looked really good but once i started reading i couldnt put it down i would recomend this to anyone who loves books like twilight but without the vampires and wolves this book is amazing romance novel. if you love reading romance novels i would recomend it :) <3

Rating: 7/10 Cassia has always trusted that the Society will make all the right decisions for her. At her Matching Ceremony, to her delight, she is matched with her best friend Xander. Until, for a split second, another boys face appears on the screen. Another boy she knows. Despite being told this was just a glitch or a prank, Cassia secretly strikes up a friendship with the boy, ignoring the terrible feeling that this could not end well… I went off Dystopia novels a while back, as they all started to blur into one at one point. However, this was a breath of fresh air, something about it was different. The main character, although in a ‘love triangle’, was still different from other protagonists in a way I couldn’t put my finger on. She just seemed a little bit more human. The story flows at a nice pace, keeping me hooked as I dove deeper and deeper into the story. I cannot wait to get my paws on a copy of Crossed.

The first time I ever saw this book was in my local bookstore. The cover drew me in at once as i found it’s simple yet elegant design both beautiful and intriguing. I immediately bought both Matched and its sequel Crossed. I’ll admit that it was such a gripping page turner that i didnt put it down all day until I finished it. This book is about a girl named Cassia. She lives in a seemingly perfect society where everything is chosen for you. Your job. The books you read. The person you love. Cassia beleives whole-heartedly in her society until, on the most important day of her life, one small glitch causes her to question everything she’s ever beleived. Now nothing is the same to her and she starts to doubt that the Society is as perfect as she first thought.I really enjoyed reading this book, as i think the characters are beautifully portrayed and i fell in love with them and the world its set in almost instantly.I paticularly enjoyed how connected i felt to the characters whilst i was reading the book, and how i felt what they were feeling, so much that i’ll admit that i cried with Cassia a few times during the book. In my opinion that is the single most important in a book, the ability to connect with the characters. I enjoy how everything grows and evolves during the book, and I really loved the way the society the characters live in seems beautiful and perfect at first, as that is how the main character, Cassia, sees it. But as Cassia evolves as a character, the way you view the society evolves with her. I must say, I really love the names used in this book. Cassia, Xander and Ky. I think theyre great names that arent over used and so are unique to this book. Character’s names is such an mportant component to a great read but you tend not to notice their importance until you come across really terrible ones. I did only give it four stars because, despite how connected i felt to the characters and how drawn in i was by the world they lived in, the book and the characters didnt stay with me after i’d finished the book. Also i felt the book was missing somthing vital that kept it from going from a book i enjoyed to a book i loved. Even so, I will withhold my final judgement until I’ve read the entire trilogy. I would reccommend this the everyone. Especially if you’re into YA dystopian novels.

A really great read. Many twists and turns, with a really sweet, heartfelt romance set in a perfect dystopian world. I really can't wait to read the second in the series.

Despite having owned this book for quite a while I've never gotten round to reading it until recently. Reviewed as similar to "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight" I thought it would just be a copycat version of these best selling series - however I was completely wrong! The story follows a community which is controlled by The Officials and in particular, depicts the life of Cassia, a seventeen year old girl. She is Matched with her best friend, meaning The Officials have chosen him for her to spend the rest of her life with, but when she begins to fall for another boy that's when the drama really starts. I definitely think this would appeal to fans of "The Hunger Games", although I think it is aimed more towards a female audience. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with how good this book was and I really want to read the rest of the series to find out what happens next!
