I've not read a Maigret before. A very intriguing case when a pickpocket seeks help & takes Maigret to the scene of a crime. He keeps going to get food & drinks a lot of wine it was surprising how laid back crime solving was back then. The story was not too long and wrapped up well. Very much like a French Poirot. I will be looking at more Maigret as little snacks between books as rather satisfying.
