This is one of the strongest fantasy books out there. If you want a brilliantly crafted story, this is the series for you. Magic to the Bone is the first in the 9 book series Devon Monk has created a strong, vibrant character in Allie Beckstrom who does what's right, despite the odds and cost to herself. In a world where using magic has a price, Allie doesn't just survive, she makes her mark. Portland, Oregon is immortalised in this gripping tale. All the characters are believable and I was completely sucked into their world.

This book is a great read the plot is a little strange at times because Allie she looses her memory every time she uses magic. However the story is a good one, because there are twists in the plot and a guy name Zay to spice things up, but all is not what it seems, by the end of the book you will want to learn more because theres a real cliff hanger! ;)
