Alpha male with a twist, as he is a very understanding alpha.

“A Scottish Werewolf in America”
(Hardback)
This instalment in Kresley Cole's Immortal After Dark series is a must read for fans. Macrieve is a centuries old Scottish Werewolf. Chloe is a star football player and future Olympian. When Chloe starts feeling strange and her dad goes missing, she finds herself in a position where she is rescued by Macrieve and taken to live with his clan. At first, things seem to be going well between them but then something happens that turns Macrieve against Chloe. Can they overcome Macrieve's past or will it be too much for them? While I enjoyed reading this, I felt the resolution was handled a bit too quickly. Despite being severely damaged by his past (and hasn't managed to get past it in centuries) Macrieve is suddenly blurting out his story and Chloe forgives him almost immediately even though he has treated her appallingly. For me, the highlight really was the end where Macrieve's twin brother Munro is put on the path to meet his mate, although it clearly isn't going to go smoothly. Worth a read if you love the series but sadly not the best book in the series.
