“Part self-help book, part memoir”
(Hardback)
⭐️ 4.5 rounded upThis was a really interesting read, sitting somewhere between a self-help book and a memoir.Fearne Cotton has spent all of her adult life in the public eye and has had more experience of being watched, judged, and analysed than most of us. The result of years of therapy and reflection have culminated in what I found to be an honest, open account of some of the toughest parts of her life, combined with what she has learned along the way. The chapter titles are inspired, including 'Would you like me if...I behave' and 'Would you like me if... I'm perfect.'The book highlights how often we squash ourselves down to please others, and includes some tangible ways we can challenge long-established thought processes.I really appreciated the tone, which felt like an encouraging big sister come mentor, and I could practically hear Fearne egging me on to be happier and more fulfilled.Yes, I am the target market for this book, and this will definitely hit the mark more for women who grew up in the 90s and 2000s, but there's a lot of really positive takeaways that will resonate more widely.

“Five stars!”
(Hardback)
Likeable by Fearne Cotton is a thoughtful and surprisingly impactful read about people pleasing, self worth, and learning to stop shrinking yourself for the comfort of others.
What I appreciated most is that this does not feel like a typical self help book. It never comes across as preachy or as though it has all the answers. Instead, Fearne Cotton reflects honestly on her own patterns and asks the kinds of questions that make you pause and examine your own life alongside hers.
I found it deeply personal and genuinely thought provoking. While she is very clear that she is not a therapist, the book still felt incredibly searching and emotionally revealing in a way that really stayed with me.
An honest, insightful, and accessible book that encourages real self reflection without ever feeling heavy handed.

“Give people pleasing the push!”
(Hardback)
Fall 'in like' with yourself with this book - Fearne's take on the steps we go to, both little and extreme, to feel liked and seen.
'Don't be this' but 'definitely be that'. Make yourself small to make some else feel better. Fearne shows us how it's OK to give some things the middle finger and how she broke free from being a people pleaser.
An enjoyable and easy read that makes us question how we behave towards others and how they make us feel.
Thank you for the advanced copy.
