Pierce Brown knocked it out of the park again with Light Bringer. The book delivers the page-turning thrills, dramatic reveals, and climactic moments that Pierce Brown is expert at delivering, with some satisfying character arcs which get the characters where they need to be for the final book. There are fewer POV changes here than in Dark Age, which results in a more focused read. Where Dark Age greatly expanded the Red Rising universe, secondary cast, and the scope of the story, Light Bringer is about narrowing it back down again on the key characters and plotlines. This does mean that certain plot lines and characters get less attention, which some readers may find disappointing. We still get to visit some new locations and meet new characters, but the series is very much preparing for its climax, so this book begins to wrap certain plotlines up rather than opening new avenues. Overall, Light Bringer is not quite on the level of Golden Son or Dark Age, but it is comfortably equal to Morning Star.
