"Liberation" is thoroughly gripping from the very first page. It's heartbreaking and it's inspirational. It's a story of war, of fear and courage, of love and friendship. The fact that Nancy Wake was a real person whose deeds formed the basis for this dramatisation is astonishing. This is a very well-written, emotion-filled journey through World War II. I loved it, but I hated it too - you need to read this book to understand why. My thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advance copy to review. Really enjoyed this book, it's based on a true story which makes it even better. Thoroughly recommend it
