This book kept me turning the pages with a hooky and twisty plot set in the late Roman legions. There's something a bit different from the usual Roman military novel in this, in that you get the feeling that the empire is teetering on collapse throughout - makes for a tense and exciting read! Highly recommended for historical fiction fans.
