“All the Stars”
(Hardback)

Poignant, touching, intelligent, bizarre, funny, charming and a little bit bonkers. Max Porter is a poetic genius with a talent for flawlessly weaving social commentary and a compelling story, Lanny is a protagonist you will fall in love with and this is a book that perfectly captures how it felt to be young and full of imagination, how it still feels when I create my own stories. If you’re a fan of Ali Smith, if you enjoyed Lincoln in the Bardo, love the works of Helen Oyeyemi or just generally enjoy books that are a little bit off-the-wall, I suspect this will be right up your street. I blitzed it in a matter of hours which is just about the biggest recommendation I can give. A constellation of stars for Max Porter ✨ for what was one of my absolute favourite books of 2019.
“Weird and wonderful”

Weird and wonderful. Not for everyone, but that's the whole point of a book like this. Personally I found the ending both satisfying and moving.
