This is not a book where you can dip in and out or read while thinking abut something else; it is the kind of read that requires concentration. And the energy is worth it, this is a superb study of landscape in Art and all that this means. The breath of his research is scary, the depth of his argument superb. It doesn't really matter whether you agree with him, and if you don't disagree at some point I will be surprised, but you will learn a lot, gain a lot, and come away enriched.
