“Excellent and original!”
(Paperback)
by Jenny Avery
As always with this imaginative and intelligent author, I found this book to be an excellent, original, read. This particular book felt almost like a book of two halves - brilliant interest and action, then very techie with a lack of action. Because of this, I did become a little unsure about how I would feel by the end, but then things all came together and I was left with satisfaction.
“Awesome!”
(Paperback)
by K. Bickmore
This may be a big book, full of sci-fi/speculative fiction in the tale of Alan Norris dealing with the loss of his wife and the raising of their daughter suddenly seeing a specific set of numbers whenever his tinnitus flares up and where that leads, but it is a wild ride with shadowy figures, murder, and a hunt to find answers that may end up saving the world. And I was hooked the whole time. This book balanced the sci-fi tech and the human emotions/characters well. Alan was a character easy to root for, strong, willing to help others despite the hardships of losing his wife, being a vet with a missing leg, and raising a daughter with her own difficulties. Add in a bit of Greek mythology, a race across the world unseen and a group of people willing to do the right thing and experts needed to save the world and you too will be sucked in! Plus I am always a sucker for tech that takes you to another place, in this case Labyrinth via immersive tech, how it can help, but also a darker side if it goes too far. Besides being a sci-fi thriller, it also brings up good questions that can be applied to the real world in how far we should go and when it might be detrimental to the human race. I am really glad I got the chance to read this and I am definitely planning on reading some of A.G. Riddles other books because if they are like this one, they will be great sci fi thrillers!
“A long but unusual read”
(Paperback)
by Maggie Macdonald
Alan returned from Afghanistan with PTSD and tinnitus. When he is offered a chance to ease his symptoms through AI, he finds that there are blocks of time he has lost. He is also left with a series of numbers he can't make sense of. He also discovers he is not alone. A group of them get together to try and make sense of their experiences. After one blackout Alan comes to beside a dead body he knows he is going to have to escape, leaving behind his young daughter who has already lost her mother. The development of AI is taking the world by storm. Before long people are becoming obsessed by the Labyrinth, spending most of their lives in the virtual world. The story also covers the development of the LAbyrinth and its effect on people. The group go in search of the secrets of the Labyrinth each bringing their own talents to the quest. This takes them all over the world, constantly looking over their shoulders. THis was a very long book- too long in some respects as it does go into a lot of unnecessary details. I really enjoyed the story on the whole but I find summarising the book difficult. This is the third book I've read by this author and is probably my least favourite- it was still good enough to deserve four starts though! Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

“Complex but compelling read”
(Paperback)
by Gee Wood
At times when reading this book I felt quite overwhelmed by what I was reading. I can understand why it took the author a lot longer to write it than he expected. It is such a complex read, that takes you to places and times and scenarios that you can’t image, but in another way it’s all too plausible. I’m not very tech savvie so felt a bit bewildered at some parts, and up until about 50% of the way through the book I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to finish it, but I also knew I had to find out how it all came together. It was a glimpse into our future but I still needed to know what happened to all of the characters, particularly Alan and Riley. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.
“You can never go wrong with Riddle!”
(Paperback)
by Tasha Schiedel
Review by Tasha S, Reviewer Last updated on Oct 07 2025 4 stars 4 stars 4 stars 4 stars 4 stars I have read a lot of A.G. Riddle's novels, and I am always in awe of how they can write such amazing stories. I have yet to be disappointed in any novel written by Riddle. Labyrinth is no small feat. Riddle loves to spend a very large portion of the story introducing us to the characters that play a significant role in the story. This forms a bond between the reader and the characters. They become family, and the reader forms an attachment, so all of the trials and accomplishments the characters achieve, the reader gets the same emotional response. The second portion of the story is when stuff gets real. The suspense kicks up a notch, and so much happens. The story is such a rollercoaster of a ride! If you enjoyed this one, I highly recommend checking out more by A.G. Riddle. Especially the Atlantis Trilogy!
