“Knife Edge by Simon Mayo”
(Hardback)
With thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the arc, as well as Simon Mayo and Pigeonhole. I really enjoyed reading this book.
Journalists, police, killers with knives, it all happens in Knife Edge, the second book by Simon Mayo. A totally engrossing storyline, strong characters and dark humour, all a reader needs to be intrigued.
A terror attack, but where and why? Journalists killed by knife attacks, a small group ready and waiting to carry out a terror attack, which city, which event, why? A very interesting, thought provoking book which keeps the reader engrossed.
Highly recommended.
“A fab thrilling read”
(Hardback)
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it didn’t disappoint. It had a thrilling start with seven journalists working for the same company being murdered at different London locations in less than an hour. Their friends and colleagues try to find out what they were working on and why they were murdered. I really enjoyed this book, it was a fast paced and held my attention from start to finish. The main character was very likeable and tenacious. There are lots of twists and turns in the story which I loved and a big reveal at the end that shocked me. A fab read. 4 stars
“A brilliant step up to adult fiction”
(Hardback)
This is a fantastic thriller. I was aware of Simon’s fiction writing from his YA novels which my son loved, so I was interested to read his first adult novel. The book throws you into the premise with the violent murder of several journalists during the London rush hour, once you are hooked it really doesn’t let you go. He characters are well drawn, interesting and believable. Simon has the rare ability to write women characters well and it heartening that they largely drive the story. He manages to populate the book yet you see every character clearly without confusion. The terrorists aren’t cardboard cutouts either, while you can’t understand their motives or sympathise with them. The end of the book is a rollercoaster and the twist is a real shock, I really enjoyed it and, if time allowed, would have read it in one sitting.
“A gripping read !”

My thanks to Netgalley and Random House for a copy of Knife Edge for an honest review .
Despite listening to Simon Mayo on the radio for years I hadn't read any of his previous novels.
I was intrigued by the storyline to this book , being a departure from his usual genre.
I was gripped from the start , and despite being more of a thriller than a psychological novel that I usually prefer, I thoroughly enjoyed this.I loved the style of writing and hope that this will be the first of many in the same vein
“Edge of Seat Thriller”
(Hardback)
Loved this book! One morning on the daily commute, a team of investigative journalists are murdered. Their colleagues, including Famie try to get to the bottom of what they were investigating.
Can't recommend this book enough.
