Take a care home, a bunch of disparate OAP's, add in the covid pandemic and Alan Bennett's wit and charm, shake well and you get this lovely little book. At 103 pages it's a quick read but a good one. The humour is darkly delicious and the characters are consicely drawn and not all are people you would like to be stuck in a home with! Given the period it's set it's a dark slice humour but still very funny. Another great book from Bennett.

What a fabulous read! Small but perfectly formed, and I could HEAR Mr Bennett's voice reading it! Extremely droll, hugely funny, these people you would not necessarily want to live with, but it just shows that getting old is an outward thing. What's inside that aging exterior though? Loved it. Want to see this on stage or a mini series its just crying out for our older and greater homegrown actors to perform and generally over-act!
